Crazy for Coconut Buns

posted by Leslie at , Nov 7, 2011

For two years we hunted high and low and finally found it: the perfect coconut bun. These little treats are products of Chinatown's Keefer Bakery, and are every bit worth the trip.

Whereas other coconut buns are too sweet, low on filling or excessively fluffy, these buns are perfection. We got ours fresh out of the oven and could've inhaled a dozen more.

If you're in Chinatown and itching for a snack, these sweet buns will do the trick.  --LM

Naturally Amazing

posted by Leslie at , Nov 2, 2011

After a hectic two weeks, we indulged in a little stress relief at J Spa Organic Skin Care Spa in Kits. From the list of luxurious treatments, we chose to pamper ourselves with the Signature Organic Facial. This 1.5 hour experience included a foot soak, an eyebrow shape as well as neck, shoulder, arm, foot and leg massages.

Following a personal skin consultation our specialist guided us through the facial, educating us at every turn about the product being applied. This seemingly small detail made us feel comfortable throughout and gave new perspective on the dos and don'ts of skin care. The staff are no doubt a highly knowledgeable and experienced bunch, not to mention very friendly.

We loved the end result! We've experienced plenty of facials that have made our skin blotchy and irritated. Much to our surprise, this treatment was the opposite; organic products left us feeling nourished and immediately helped improve our skin. There was no need to hide under a hat or duck into the car post appointment - we walked right out after a quick (and light!) organic makeup application.

J Spa, thank you for the rich and memorable spa experience! We'll be back for more!  --LM
